Returning Post

It's been a long time since I updated this blog. I need to figure out what subject matter I want to dedicate to it.

GMAIL

I just heard about gmail and I am trying to get an invite so that I can be lucky enough to have an account myself. I am googling for one. :)

Shooting

The weather is finally nice in NYC. This has been a tough, grueling winter. I hope it's over now that spring is officially here. Today I think I will go out in the nice weather and take some pictures. I hope something interesting comes my way. Maybe I'll go to the East Village, grab something to eat and find some subject matter there.

New Canon Flash - Met Billy Bush

Today I bought a flash for my Canon G3 digital camera. Makes a big difference in the indoor shots. I also met Billy Bush at work today. He will be hosting the new "Let's Make a Deal" show which used to star Monty Hall. He is George W. Bush's first cousin by the way. It looks like I won't be getting a new computer for some time. Oh well.

Very Cold

Today it's pretty cold. It's 19 degrees Fahrenheit as I write this with temperature dropping to 9 degrees tonight. Too cold for me. I went out to eat tonight in my old neighborhood. I haven't been there in a couple of years. Someone told me that a certain shopping center changed alot since I was there last, so I wanted to check it out. The information was not exactly correct because the shopping center is pretty much the same as it was, with just a couple of new stores. It wasn't worth the trip in this cold weather. Of course, I went by bus and train since I don't own a car right now. Waiting for buses in this weather is just pure torture. I much rather enjoy taking the subway into the Village to eat and shop around. Much more convenient and much more interesting. I'd rather live there too. One day I will, perhaps.

Decisions

I spent today trying to make decisions. Decisions on what computer I should buy next. Should I get a mac or should I build an athlon machine. I want to run a music program called Pro Tools. The latest version will not run on my 3 year old mac because it doesn't have AGP graphics. A new mac at the low end will cost $1500.00. The one I really want costs $2000.00. I could build an athlon box for under $1000.00 and get excellent performance for that program but I don't want to make a mistake. I don't want to have a bad experience and besides I am a macintosh loyalist but I am not without an open mind.

I also spent much of the day trying to figure out what I really want to do with my life. I am going nowhere fast. I need a plan. I need to set some goals that I will aspire to attain. These are decisions I should have made long ago. Actually I did have a plan but life got in the way. Things happen. Things that were not expected. My life must go on but to where will it go?

Introductory Post

This is my first attempt at blogging. I live and work in NYC. It's an interesting place because there are lots of different peoples here and lots of things to do. I work in Manhattan for a commercial office building. It's interesting because I get to talk to lots of people and occasionally I get to meet celebrities. I have met actors, musicians, politicians, newscasters, weathermen, and even some strange characters. I can be found in the lobby of the building where I meet and greet people. I am also responsible for the fire command station. One of the drawbacks to this job is having to stay in a lobby that can get quite cold this time of year. I don't like being cold. The doors constantly open and close because it's a busy building. When I get home at night, I like to get on my macintosh computer. I really enjoy it. I also like to sing and play my guitar when I feel musical. Another hobby of mine is photography. I recently bought a Canon G3 digital camera. It's alot of fun and I'll be using it quite a bit more when the weather warms up a bit.
